Nader Francis is an expert colorectal surgeon at Yeovil. He is committed to minimal invasive surgery and enhanced recovery and continues to improve patient experience through an excellent relationship with the whole Multi-disciplinary team. In addition to fostering this locally, Nader has been working to promote the spread and adoption of enhanced recovery nationally through ERAS UK, which he founded in 2010.
Nader is a passionate teacher and educator with a prior educational PhD in assessment of surgical skills which underpinned his national/ international expertise as a trainer and educational lead in the field of laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Nader has presented widely as invited speaker, chairman, or organizer of several educational events and national and international conferences. Nader’s educational expertise lies around designing, delivering and assessment of educational curricula, including designing objective assessment tools. Over the past 10 years, Nader has designed and led the delivery of numerous training curricula at both national and international level and recently he has been appointed as the director of training at Northwick Park Institute for Medical Research and holds an Honorary Professor position with UCL.
Nader is currently the Chair of the research committee of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery and he has key research interest in education; colorectal cancer; laparoscopic surgery and perioperative care. He has been a chief investigator of a number of studies and he has presented and published widely in those areas.
